The Society is open to all who are practising, or have an interest, in the field of Rheology. There are no formal requirements for entry.

Benefits

There are several reasons to become a member of the ASR.

  • To be successful as a rheologist, it is essential that the field of rheology grows, which in turn requires long-term contributions from rheologists to foster  the rheology community. Becoming a Member allows you to participate in the functioning of the Society and having a say in its direction.
  • Your annual subscription fee is essential for supporting the Society's activities and services, and maintain its assets (e.g. this website)
  • Becoming a Member makes you eligible for the ASR's awards, including the Howard See Travel Grant, the ASR Medallion, and the ASR Life Membership.

The ASR is a cognate society of the Australian Institute of Physics (AIP). This allows a 10% concession in the AIP's membership fees and conference registrations.

Subscriptions

There are two types of membership that you can sign-up for: Full Membership and Student Membership.

The annual subscription fees are AUD 100 for Full Membership and AUD 50 for Student Membership (plus 10% GST).

Becoming a Member requires two steps.

  • Pay the annual subscription fee below or offline through your bank using the details here.

The ASR Council will then formally approve your membership application.

If you have any other enquiries regarding Membership or ASR information, please contact The Treasurer, ASR.
